Shelly Jones is the Managing Director of The Highbury Group. Based in Seattle, Washington, Shelly has participated for over 20 years in the executive search consulting profession, initially with Russell Reynolds Associates in Chicago and later with Korn/Ferry International in Chicago and Seattle.

Shelly’s career in executive search has been unusually diverse. While at Russell Reynolds Associates, he was the Practice Leader for its global Retail/Fashion Practice. He restructured Korn/Ferry’s office in Seattle in 1995 and managed it for more than five years. While ultimately becoming Korn/Ferry’s Practice Leader for the global Aerospace and Defense industries, he also worked with a wide array of consumer, financial service, industrial and technology companies, both in the Pacific Northwest and on a national basis.

Shelly has conducted Board level engagements for such diverse companies as Boeing, ConAgra, Weyerhaeuser, Coinstar, WestFarm Foods, SonoSite, Lumera, Itron and a predecessor company of Midamerican Energy Holdings. Similarly, he has conducted CEO, COO and other senior level management executive search assignments across a broad array of industries.

Shelly’s early career includes over 14 years with the Continental Bank in Chicago where he was involved with senior domestic and international relationships, as well as with its merchant banking subsidiary based in London.

Shelly currently serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Washington Business School. He has previously served on the Alumni Board of Governors of Macalester College; the Board of Trustees of the Seattle Repertory Theater and the National Corporate Theater Fund; and, the Board of Trustees of the Committee for Economic Development, a national, not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization of business and education leaders based in Washington, D.C.

Shelly received his B.A. degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and his MBA from the University of Washington.
